Berkeley Springs Instruments Company Information
General information
The Eagle Array is a patented, wireless sensor system remotely monitors the mechanical integrity of pipelines, facility piping, pressure vessels and above ground storage tanks. The system consists of multiple ultrasound transducers, environmental sensors, imbedded signal processing software and mechanical design features.
The system collects and stores very accurate corrosion/erosion data and calculates wear assessments, including rates of material loss according to API guidelines. This information is provided remotely, via the Internet, on a reporting schedule determined by the user. Communication with the Internet is achieved through direct-connect, Wi-Fi, cell networks or any other commercially available communication method using IEEE protocols.
The standard Eagle Array uses multiple proprietary transducers arranged, by the user, in any configuration and installed on the outside of a pipe (or similar structure). The array can be removed and repositioned by the user to fit different pipe diameters or adhere to various types of corrosion campaigns or similar monitoring applications. In addition to metal loss information, the system’s data stream includes temperature changes, humidity variations, vibration and shock events and a host of optional variables.
