The Huron County Safety Council, sponsored by the Norwalk city Chamber of Commerce, is comprised of 75 organizational members. The Council meets once a month and offers programs addressing occupational safety and health, worker's compensation, and risk management education and information. Olympus Norwalk, located in Huron County, OH, is a member of the manufacturing group within the Council. At the Annual Awards and Banquet on March 16, 2017, it was announced that Olympus Norwalk was the winner of the following awards: Group Awards: lowest incident rate in your Council group 100% Awards: working the entire year without a lost time, accident, or illness Achievement Awards: decreased incident rate by 25% from the previous year These awards demonstrate OSTA's commitment to excellence in manufacturing. Olympus employees in Southborough and Waltham, MA recently participated in "Hoops and Dreams," a fundraiser in support of Cradles to Crayons which provides clothing, school supplies, toys and much more to children in need. For every second our employees were able to hula hoop, Olympus donated $1.00 to the cause. OSTA Employees Participate in 5K to Benefit the Colon Cancer Coalition Olympus Surgical Technologies-Southborough, MA employees participated in the 2016 Get Your Rear in Gear 5K Run/Walk event in Boston on September 24, 2016. This annual race benefits the Colon Cancer Coalition. The 5K Run/Walk took place at the DCR Mother’s Rest Area at Carson Beach. Olympus Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Medical National Service and Distribution Center A state-of-the-art $12 million dollar Medical East Coast National Service and Distribution Center is under construction in Bartlett, TN. The two-story, 110,000-square-foot facility will employ over 280 employees and support one of the largest concentrations of medical device growth in the country. The new facility is scheduled to be completed by April, 2017.
