Established in 1919, Heavy Constructors, Inc. has paved its way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Rapid City where it has established deep roots in the community. Currently, with our divisions Gustafson Builders and Excavating Specialists, we have become one of the most diversified general contractors in South Dakota and the region!
Heavy Constructors is our complete civil contracting division. We take on projects that include site work, underground utilities and all aspects of concrete work including curb and gutter, pavement, sidewalk and retaining walls. This division is also responsible for structural work that includes bridges, culverts and parking structures.
Gustafson Builders is our commercial building division. We tackle projects ranging from $500,000 to $30,000,000 and up. This division utilizes its recourses from our other two divisions to keep our projects on time and cost effective. Also, Gustafson Builders has recently ventured into residential construction. Excavating Specialists is our communications division. Their primary services include installing telephone, cable TV and fiber optic systems by trenching, directional boring or jetting. This division also boasts 32 years experience that grants us knowledge of the placement of several key infrastructure utility systems in the area. This allows us to get jobs done faster and more efficiently.
All divisions can come with complete project management that may include estimating, cost effective construction methods, scheduling, cost tracking and control, permitting, and quality control.
