General information

In 1989, Jim and Ilona Sublett created Manderley Manor; the name was inspired by a novel by Daphne Du Maurier entitled Rebecca, later made into a movie by Alfred Hitchcock. Literature, history, design, romance, drama and an appreciation of fine homes and their furnishings, like the fabled “Manderley” in Rebecca story, was the inspiration behind this business endeavor. Providing beautiful furnishings either new or lovingly restored was the mission of Manderley Manor.

First located at 515 Mt Pleasant Road, Manderley Manor provided refinishing services and sold beautifully restored antique mahogany dining room and occasional furniture in the Georgian Style.

Eleven years later the business moved to 567 Mount Pleasant Road to better accommodate the expanding array of merchandise including custom made solid mahogany tables and chairs. The primary aim of the business has been to provide extremely well constructed solid furniture with exquisite styling and design either newly minted or beautifully restored.

In 2004. Manderley Manor began a relationship with L & J.G. Stickley of Manlius New York. Manderley Manor is proud to be known as “The Home Of Stickley “in Toronto. Stickley, since 1900, has been crafting exceptional furnishings in solid woods with highest standard of cabinet making. The quality,design and historical significance of this furniture marries beautifully with the original mission of Manderley Manor.

In 2007, Manderley Manor opened a second location at 561 Mt Pleasant Rd to showcase the mission line of Stickley furniture and in 2008 an addition was added to 567 to better display the wide range of Stickley; including Traditional Mahogany, Fine Upholstery, Metropolitan (contemporary) Edinborough , Craftsman Leather, 21st Century,
Colonial Williamsburg Pasadena bungalow and more.

Manderley Manor proudly continues its legacy to provide exceptional furnishings to its customers in a friendly and personal “boutique-like” setting. Jim and Ilona Sublett are joined by an equally friendly staff who are also passionate about sharing their love and knowledge of beautiful furnishings.
