General information

EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR BOATING ON BACK CREEK AND DELAWARE BAY.

Husted's Landing Inc. is a business...but so much more. Lanny's description of the business under his father's lead was open 7 days a week from 7 am till 10 pm unless someone pulled up to the store (after hours) and then he would gladly come from next door, open up and take care of them!!!

If you know Lanny, then you know he carried on that same understanding that the business is here to serve our customers...with the slight modification ("Dad, if my kids have something going on, I want to be there for them.") and so Lanny added another dimension to the business which I will call "sharing the lead". When Lanny's kids had a pony event or a game or a play, he would hand over the reigns to a trusted confidant to run the shop while he was with his family.

When I expressed interest to buy the business and began learning how complex it is (it is a different business every month), I was overwhelmed. Lanny told me "there are two guys that I trust completely with the business: Ray (Junior) Bano Jr. and Dean Taguwa. I found out soon enough there was another, Charles (Mack) MacName. I found these three men to be true to what Lanny had told me, I could trust them completely...It is a good thing, I too share Lanny's values: I am here to serve my customers, but leading my family is my first responsibility...and we have a big, active family.
You will find that I have added to Lanny's list of trusted leaders my good neighbors Bill and Patty Sanza, my "uncle" Bob Mulford, my brother Bruce Hildreth, my mother Brenda Hildreth, and recently my new friend and organizer, Delores Boker.

I trust all these to serve our customers when I need to be away.

"We are here to serve!" would be the motto of Husted's Landing...to that end I look to the man Jesus of Nazareth as a role model of Servant Leadership. As a Christian, I have studied The Bible and have been overwhelmed emotionally and finally logically that the man Jesus of Nazareth was in truth both God and man. He had the power to command the whole world to drop to their knees and worship Him, but instead followed the will of the "The Father" and gave His Holy life to serve. He is a model of service to those who follow His teaching.

While tthe business is not a church, you will find it a local center of discussion of the happenings of the town, the bay, the state of New Jersey, the United States, the World, and even at times the whole Universe. I always like to keep both God and man in perspective even while discussing where the the fish are (or are not) biting and what they are biting on...

Donny has been keeping Husted's Landing on the map for the past 5 years!
Don is an Internet FISHING Celebrity! and he fishes right here in Back Creek and Delaware Bay. He posts pictures and reports fishing results daily on The Bass Barn and Facebook. Donny has been a Godsend for Husted's Landing!!! Don Perch fishes from May 1st through December and is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet on this Earth. I am glad to call him my friend.
