TecSec is a specialist, single-brand value-added distributor of both Video Surveillance and Access Control equipment in the Southern African market. Whilst our Administration Offices and Distribution Centre are situated in Mount Edgecombe, KwaZulu-Natal we provide a national Sales and Technical Support service through regional employees conveniently situated in our major centres.

With its origin dating back to 2003, TecSec Distributors has gone through several changes in face but always remained a specialist supplier of Security Equipment.

In December 2009, TecSec was appointed as the official local distributor for Avigilon. This end-to-end Canadian based Video Surveillance and Access Control Solution manufacturer has shown unprecedented growth in the world market and is consistently honoured for such.

TecSec Distributors has successfully carried this phenomenal growth through to the local market, consistently producing triple-digit year-on-year growth figures.

Our unprecedented growth is attributable to high levels of in-house expertise, dedication and personal service offered by owners, managers and employees alike. This has translated into significant local market share for the Avigilon brand in a short period.

In January 2014, owing largely to our success in the video surveillance market, TecSec was also then appointed as official distributor of Avigilon Access Control, following the acquisition of RedCloud by the Avigilon Corporation.

TecSec will continue to add substantial value to the distribution process in keeping with our company slogan “Distribution Done Differently”. This infers a shift in mindset from traditional over-counter distribution to a new-age model, and we will thus continue to be innovative in our ideas and processes to achieve lower levels of input cost and higher levels of service and support – all benefits to you, our valued customer, and partner to market.

Our goal is to remain ahead of the game as South Africa’s leading specialist project-based distributor by maintaining strategic partnerships with SA’s principal system integrators and consulting engineers alike.

Having achieved significant success in the top-tier of the video surveillance market, we are now positioning ourselves to aggressively target the middle and middle/lower tiers. This will be achieved through a combination of new Avigilon hardware, maintaining Avigilon’s award-wining software and introducing fully integrated house brands at a lower price point. With more than 75% of our staff having had extensive Access Control experience we are very well positioned to offer the same levels of service and support to the Access Control market.

• Maintain this structure into the future and not be compelled, as would our competitors with significant distribution networks, to impose regular and considerable price increases to fund the ever-increasing costs associated with such overheads.

• Empower our staff with product knowledge to allow you to extract the full array of benefits incorporated in our product offerings and then to extend these into integrated environments providing you the opportunity to offer unique and cutting-edge solutions to both prestigious and demanding customers.

• Remain a specialist single-brand supplier and not distribute a multitude of security and management equipment offerings. This will maximise our opportunity to partner with a wide array of building management, incident management, access control, intercom system and intrusion, smoke and fire detection system providers and thus not restrict you in moving into any such environment, no matter the brand, the magnitude or the level.

• Continue to contribute significant levels of our profits to organisations working with local communities in the areas of humanitarian aid, child relief (human trafficking), medical outreach clinics, peer scholar programmes to restore fundamental core-values and micro-development projects to encourage self-sustainability and growth.
