General information

Walmer Park Shopping Centre opened its doors to the public in September 1988, with a size of approximately 12 000 sqm. Since its opening, the shopping centre has undergone two refurbishments and six extensions, which now brings the centre’s GLA to just over 43 000 sqm. The most recent expansion was completed in November 2013 and is anchored by the internationally branded Zara store. Keeping pace with the rapid business and residential growth of the Western suburbs of the city and the surrounding areas, the Centre provides an upmarket shopping destination for the Port Elizabeth community and visitors to Port Elizabeth. The centre boasts over 25 years of retail success and quality services, available through a vast range of national and international retail brands, restaurants, movies and service related businesses, all under one roof.

Walmer park’s range of coffee shops, restaurants and specialty stores offer a decadent variety of delicacies that will tempt any palette- whether it be for business or pleasure. All your banking, travel and foreign exchange needs can be met in the Centre, which houses South Africa’s major banks, accompanying ATM’s as well as top class travel agencies.

Walmer Park’s spacious exhibition areas, located throughout the centre are extremely popular venues for promotions, brand activation's and exhibitions and can be rented out to external exhibitors. As local, national and international visitors frequently visit the shopping centre, they are provided with a high level of quality information services and Gift Card sales from our friendly staff at the Information Kiosk.

Ample, secure, free on-grade parking conveniently located close to our four entrances to the shopping centre, as well as paid for parking in our underground parking garage provides visitors the convenience of shopping comfortably during rain, hail or snow! Our underground parking garage also provides you with a fantastic ‘Wash-e-Moto’ car wash service, while you shop. The centre’s retail trading hours which are from 09h00 to 18h00, Monday’s to Friday’s; 09h00 to 17h00 on Saturday's and Public Holidays and from 09h00 to 14h00 on Sunday’s. Restaurants and Entertainment are open till 22h00. This allow our visitors to shop at their leisure whether it be after a busy work day or during the weekend.

The Centre is proudly wheelchair-friendly and provides a wheelchair service for use by its visitors. Wheelchairs are obtainable for use from our Security office, located at the waterfall entrance in the underground parking garage or visitors can call to book one on 041 368 6001.
