Elk jaar gaat een groot aantal fanatieke schaatsers, waaronder tweevoudig olympisch kampioen Jochem Uytdehaage, de Alternatieve Elfstedentocht op de Weissensee in Oostenrijk schaatsen met Skate4AIR. Het doel hiervan is om middels gesponsorde kilometers zoveel mogelijk geld op te halen voor onderzoek naar Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
