Founded in 1947, Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company (formally Ellesmere Operatic Society) continues to bring high-standard productions to Sheffield.
Providing a huge variety of different shows, Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company have recreated great amateur productions such as The Addams Family, Me and My Girl a favourite classic show Oliver! and they brought Billy back to Sheffield after a 15 year absence.
Show Stoppers
In 1948, after increasingly successful shows, the seating capacity at the Ellesmere Community Centre was reduced to 100. To make up the lost takings various fund raising concerts were produced; "A Night with Ellesmere", "Memories of Drury Lane" and "Thank You for the Music" were all concerts that eventually evolved into the now popular "Show Stoppers".
Show Stoppers is an opportunity to come and see the cast of the Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company as they share with you their vast repetoire of favourite songs from stage and screen at the end of each year. For a fun filled, entertaining evening out and a trip down memory lane, Show Stoppers is the perfect stage production.
