General information
The Royal Anglian Regiment is a line infantry regiment. Both the 1st Battalion and 2nd Battalions are Regular Battalions in the light role and the 3rd Battalion is an Army Reserve Infantry Battalion, also in the light role. The 1st Battalion recruits its soldiers from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire; with the 2nd Battalion recruiting from Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The 3rd Battalion has companies throughout the Regimental recruiting area.
