General information

Welcome to our Facebook page, which is a space for people with arthritis and those affected by it to share information and support. Thank you to everyone who gives their time to share their everyday experiences and tips about how to push back the limits of arthritis.

This page is moderated between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. We check in every evening and at weekends. We may not respond until the next day (or Monday, for weekend posts) if the query is not urgent.

Our comment policy
We welcome positive and robust discussions. Our comment policy, which is in line with Facebook’s own policies, are that we do not tolerate:
• Offensive or violent language
• Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs
• Links or comments containing sexually explicit content material
• Attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual
• Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights
• Spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of other people’s computers or mobile devices
• Commercial solicitations, or the promotion of services or organisations, that do not support the delivery of Arthritis Research UK’s charitable objectives
• We know that some people believe that cannabis can provide pain relief from the symptoms of arthritis. We cannot condone posts that recommend the use of cannabis, because it is an illegal drug. We reserve the right to delete posts about this issue.
• We encourage and support our community members to share tips and advice about pushing back the everyday limits of living with arthritis. If we are concerned that this advice could, however unintentionally, be harmful, we will recommend that people contact their medical professional for advice.

We will delete posts that don't follow these guidelines, and message the poster to let them know why. It is not always possible to do this, if your privacy settings won't allow us to message you, so if you send us a message, that’s why.

We reserve the right to remove comments which attempt to hijack conversations for a personal or irrelevant agenda, for instance by posting comments that are off topic, repetitive, or vindictive.
