The Central Peel Company Information
General information
The central hotel established around 1608 one of the first pubs ever recorded on the isle of man, once one of sixteen pubs in this little narrow street, it would have had maybe a barrel of homemade beer and a barrel of rum (probably contraband) in the front room, old newspaper cuttings tell of an entrance to a smugglers tunnel that ran from the back door of the central down the street to connect with other pubs to avoid the customs men.
