General information

Essex county bowling club one of the largest bowling clubs in Essex, based in the centre of Westcliff-on-Sea hosting 6 indoor rinks, and 12 outdoor rinks, we are proud to host the outdoor county semi finals and finals event, and the police International two day tournament.

Our facilities include The County restaurant and bar, offering refreshments throughout the day exclusive to our members.

The indoor season (October to April), hosts weekly friendly games with other clubs, roll up sessions, leagues for both ladies, men and mixed sessions throughout the season, and are proud to hold our bowls for beginners sessions throughout the year including taster days for those that want a quick insight into playing bowls. The outdoor season (May to September) also hosts friendly games, roll up/disc games and league sessions for men and ladies, as well as hosting internal and external competitions.

The club has been established since 1906 and we believe it is one of the oldest bowling clubs in Essex. We still have the original bowls pavilion and the building has maintained many of its period features and now includes a cadet office which administers our growing youth section.

The club has a large car park, including disabled parking spaces, along with disabled access to all parts of the building. There are also disabled wheelchair facilities for those that wish to use our greens.
