S W S Double Glazing

General information

SWS started trading in 1983 by the owner David McNamara, who having been fully trained as a Carpenter and Joiner by 1975 began working installing and surveying in the double glazing industry and gaining experience over the next eight years.
SWS then called Styline Window Services manufactured and supplied Aluminium windows and doors to the trade and also installed them to a very high standard.

As time went on, the company grew and Styline moved into making and installing UPVC windows and doors, as well as aluminium windows and doors and enjoyed a period of growth and stability.
In the early 1990s, the company began to move away from manufacturing and whilst still supplying the trade and it’s own installations the company began moving towards the repair side of the industry utilising the companies wealth of experience in double glazing, which we were ideally suited to do. Our expertise was utilised by large companies such as First National Bank, who sold finance packages to consumers.
Although the bank was not a window company it was equally liable under the consumer credit act and bound to honour the guarantees given by the window companies at the time of sale.

The bank was experiencing problems with windows and doors supplied by double glazing companies that had either gone out of business or simply would not carry out the necessary repairs to their customer’s windows.
SWS agreed to carry out these works on behalf of the bank and covered the whole of the south east of England and continued to do so for the next fourteen years until the banking crisis of 2008 when the bank (First National) was sold.

This turn of events prompted a new change of direction for SWS and led to the opening of our Double Glazing Centre in Hainault, Essex within the following year in 2009.
SWS Double Glazing centre specialises in supplying the trade and public with spare parts, sealed units and on site repairs and new installations when required.
We have been trading now from these premises for eight years and are becoming more and more well known locally and the company is growing year on year.
