Venice Bakery USA's President, Jimmy DeSisto, was asked by Dr. Karima Hirani, (a practitioner of holistic medicine at the University of Southern California), to create a great-tasting, gluten free pizza for her students and patients. Dr. Hirani explained that a gluten free diet improved the behavioural patterns of many of the autistic children she treated. Mr. DeSisto was inspired to research the gluten free market, intent on producing the 'perfect' gluten free crispy pizza crust – which would meet Venice Bakery’s rigorous standards.

In collaboration with our team of skilled bakers, dedicated to artisan baking techniques the Venice Bakery gluten free pizza base was born. Dr. Hirani’s reaction after her first bite, convinced us that together they had discovered the perfect combination of ingredients and it remains the secret recipe we use at Venice Bakery today. We're proud to be recognised as a leader in the American gluten free market. Our gluten free products are tested by the Celiac Sprue Association which certifies that Venice Bakery adheres to their high standards. Our gluten free, dairy free, corn free and vegan pizza bases are sold by supermarkets and restaurants across America.

Now we’re delighted to launch our gluten free pizza bases in the UK so that even more customers can enjoy our great tasting crispy pizza bases. Our bases are certified by Coeliac UK as gluten free and bear the 'crossed grain symbol' on our packaging as a sign of gluten free assurance. Plus our bases are made in a dedicated gluten free kitchen for your peace of mind to avoid cross contamination with gluten.
