Buzy Bee, an LEYC Nursery

General information

Buzy Bee Day Nursery is a purpose designed Nursery, which is situated on two levels. We cater for 33 children with the 0-2 year olds on the ground floor which is divided into two large Nursery rooms, free flow is ongoing between these two rooms. There is also a baby changing room, staff/visitors toilet, cloak area and secure, enclosed outdoor play area which is partly covered to ensure outside play is available in all weathers. Upstairs there are a further two large Nursery rooms which cater for children aged 2 – 3 and pre-school age, again with free flow ongoing, a cloak room, kitchen, ICT suite and children’s toilets and wash hand basins. There is adequate car parking and easy access to the Nursery for those coming by car.

The Nursery has been designed with safety in mind and operates a security system where staff can see people who approach the door on a monitor (this does not affect data protection) and either speak to them if unsure who they are or can buzz them in. We have recently had CCTV cameras installed throughout the nursery, this will increase the safeguarding of the children which is of paramount importance within the nursery. The Nursery complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage standards, Health and Safety requirements, holds appropriate fire certificates, is fully insured with a comprehensive Nursery insurance policy and is registered with Ofsted Early Years.

The Nursery operates an Equal Opportunities and Special Needs policy to all children as set out in the Children Act. Our aim is to ensure that all provision within the Nursery is maintained to a very high quality standard and a complaints procedure and evaluation of service provision has been set up to ensure that this is achieved.
