House Rules

Independent News & Media (Northern Ireland) Limited recognises its readers are its most important asset and we encourage you to join in online debate and discussion on issues published by us.

We do not pre-moderate comments, material or any form of interactions and will not normally remove these interactions because we disagree with the sentiments or opinions expressed.

However in order to facilitate an open, safe and respectful discussion here are the house rules:

(a) Don’t post anything illegal, defamatory or which might get you or us engaged in legal proceedings. We don’t want that, and we assume neither do you!
(b) Don’t post anything abusive, threatening, racist, homophobic, sexist, offensive or which might constitute harassment of any sort
(c) Don’t engage in personal attacks, threats or trolling
(d) Don’t use multiple accounts, or post material containing spam, adverts, or links to websites or downloads
(e) Don’t use profanities, or excessive capital letters in putting your point across
(f) Don’t post material that isn’t yours or you don’t have the right to post
Independent News & Media (Northern Ireland) encourages its readers to report any content which they believe may violate these rules or the terms and conditions below by email to digitaleditorial@belfasttelegraph.co.uk outlining the reasons why you believe the material is in violation and a link/screenshot of it.
