Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre Company Information
General information
The genesis of KCAC was in 2006, in 2007 it established a British charity and in 2010 it opened the Nepal’s first international contemporary arts centre hosting exhibitions, workshops and symposia to develop awareness of contemporary art and help emerging Nepali artists with bursaries, studio space and grants. The library, the largest of its kind in Nepal, is growing rapidly thanks to major gifts from Tate Britain and many private donors - it now has more than 5,000 art books.
In March 2012 we moved to the Patan Museum and opened there with 'Portrait to Self-Portrait' by Antonio Nodar (supported by the Elsa Peretti Foundation) and 'Resting Stops' by Pepon Osorio (supported by the Bronx Museum.)
