Pobble House Company Information
General information
Pobble House is an award winning, architect designed holiday home on the coast of Kent. The house sits on Dungeness, a vast expanse of shingle that juts out into the English Channel. This dramatic coastal setting has the quality of a wilderness and it represents the perfect retreat from modern life.
Dungeness is nothing if not unique. It is home to only about forty houses and these include a collection of former fishermen's huts, cabins that started life as old railway carriages as well as a a handful of modern architectural houses - of which Pobble is one. It also has two lighthouses, a steam railway, a few family owned fishing boats, a fish hut selling freshly caught fish, two pubs and a nuclear power station.
For many years the landscape has attracted creative people and it is probably most famous for being where the late film maker, Derek Jarman, created a striking coastal garden that surrounds his home. The importance of the flora and fauna at Dungeness has been recognised by its designation as a National Nature Reserve and the presence of an RSPB sanctuary.
It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and can sleep up to 10. It is available to rent throughout the year for a minimum of 3 nights in low season and 7 nights in peak season. Prices from £770 for a short break.
