Essene Country Lodge offers a satisfying escape to the countryside, complete with horses, cows, pukekoes and a few hippity-hoppity rabbits!

The newly designed spacious three bedroom home is carefully positioned on 1.6 hectres of heritage land fully surrounded in mature trees. The home is fully equipped to service most requirements and includes a large kitchen, walk-in pantry and laundry. Essene Country Lodge offers the ulitmate peace, privacy and tranquility for all travellers and weekend explorers!

With two large comfortable living rooms and various outdoor areas including a purposely-built seated area around a brazier, this is the perfect hub for families or small groups who value social gatherings in a relaxed homely setting.

For those who like to relax, you can daydream by the stream, read in the garden or simply meander around with animals. Take a 5-minute stroll and you’ll be at the wonderful café, The Olde Creamery [http://www.oldecreamery.co.nz/]. Originally built in 1892 as a creamery for the local farming community, it now boasts a restaurant, gift shop and popular wedding venue set amongst a beautiful English garden.

Bedroom descriptions
The spacious three bedroom home has two medium-large sized bedrooms with queen-sized beds and a third with two large single beds. A living room also accommodates two people on a comfortable fold-out sofa bed. All rooms are carpeted, clean, light, sunny and warm. Ample pillows and clean linen are supplied.

Meadow
Considered the master bedroom, the spacious sunny room includes a personal ensuite and offers a superior quality queen-sized bed, matching bedside tables and built-in wardrobe.

The large exterior glass sliding door serves as your handy external portal to the deck and spa, while enjoying panoramic views overlooking lush grass and a tree-lined meadow. You might be inspired to get up and go hug the cows!

Evergreen
A delightfully light, sunny and inviting room that offers a comfortable queen-sized bed, built-in wardrobe and bedside tables. Similar to Meadow, the large exterior glass sliding door provides convenient access to the deck and spa and a magnificent outdoor view.

At night, leave the window ajar and drift asleep to the soft leafy murmurs of the Eucalyptus trees swaying with the wind nearby. Totally calming!

Kaipaki
Nestled at the rear of the house, the well-lit carpeted room offers two comfortable king-sized single beds. Ideal for the younger family members or friends happy to share a room. It also includes a built-in wardrobe.

Location
A 10-minute drive west from Cambridge or 20-minutes south of Hamilton, Essene Country Lodge is nestled on 1.6 hectares of classic Waikato farming land.
The lodge is one-hour drive from Raglan, Rotorua or Tauranga and two-hours from Auckland. It is conveniently positioned close to Mystery Creek event centre and the world-class velodrome, Avantidrome.
“Our lodge has become a handy oasis for those attending busy events at the nearby event centres,” says host Colleen. “We also have a lot of rowers, cyclists and wedding parties appreciating the proximity of our lodge, not to mention taking advantage of our well-equipped laundry.”
Other nearby attractions include; Hobbiton (30 mins), Glowworm caves (50 mins) and Lake Karapiro (15 mins).
Cambridge is located in the heart of the Waikato horse breeding district and known for it’s world-class stables. The township offers lovely tree-lined streets and some amazing heritage buildings. We also have some fabulous antique stores and art galleries that are worth a visit.

Important things to know
• Smoking, parties and pets are not permitted.
• All additional guests must be registered at the time of booking.
• Guests are to leave the property clean and tidy, as they found it.
• We recommend children are supervised when outside, particularly when near the stream.

Additional amenities
• For those with infants and children, the lodge includes a high chair, portable cot and mattresses. There are ample games, toys, books and DVDs.

• Ample parking – perfect for the boat!

• Excellent facilities for those pre-wedding events as there is ample set-up space, picturesque backdrops for photography shoots as well as a large full length mirror.
