General information

Since 1977, Maroma from Auroville, India, is a conscientious producer of natural home and body care products which are made with care for the environment and concern for social development.

• THE RAISON D'ÊTRE of Maroma since its inception has been to match Auroville's unique business ethic, where the company does not belong personally to its Executives and Founders. Maroma has been the largest contributor to the economy of Auroville. A large part of the profit generated goes to a common fund for the growth of Auroville.

• FAIR: Maroma is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization and Fair Trade Forum India.

• NATURAL: Most of products are 100% Natural. Maroma creates fragrances for their products using natural essential oils. Body Care products are produced without parabens, pegs and phenoxiethanol and comply with international natural body care standards.

• VEGAN: All products are cruelty free. No animal testing.

• ECOFRIENDLY: Packaging is eco friendly. Incense and Sachets are packed in recycled handmade paper from cotton fabric, which in turn is also recyclable. Maroma complies with eco friendly practices by recycling wastes, using of renewable resources, and minimizing use of energy in the manufacturing processes. A steady investment in solar panels reduces our dependency on conventional energy sources and allows us to feed the excess energy back into the main grid.
