Fiber reinforcement of concrete is like adding life to concrete. Concrete by its nature is brittle material and tends to develops crack over a period of time due to internal stress, expansion/contraction. Conventional reinforcement is not good enough to address concrete failure. By adding fibers into concrete, we can improve the post cracking behavior of concrete, its ability of absorb and redistribute the loads thus increasing ductile behavior or toughness index of cement composite.
